I'm a classical oboist and have tinkered with various bagpipes over the years and now would love to get my hands on a Magyar duda. My fiancee is Hungarian but we won't have the chance to get back to old country in the near future. Would you have any suggestions of instrument makers or dealers whom I might contact? Many thanks.Grumpy Cathttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02550423121283467735noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21879466.post-56524216630627631692012-06-11T19:26:42.262-04:002012-06-11T19:26:42.262-04:00I've never been one to read blogs (and have ce...I've never been one to read blogs (and have certainly never left a comment on one before) but time and time again I find myself searching for yours and I'm always glad when I come across it. It's great to see some klezmer presence at the International Gypsy Festival - I tried to make it there last summer but the timing was too close to Athe Sam, and I'm glad I stuck around Budapest now that I've caught wind of Gödör closing (!)
Thanks so much for putting the time in to writing on here. It's great to still have some sights of Budapest (and Transylvania, and Slovakian fishing trips) in my life here in the rains of Oregon. Hoping to make it back to the caves of Buda and curving streets of Pest some day.
Much appreciation,
Lou
P.S. - is that Jake Shulman-Ment fiddlin' with y'all there?Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03618614619917836888noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21879466.post-49078305671830965132012-06-08T06:23:19.669-04:002012-06-08T06:23:19.669-04:00Limberger, with two e's.Limberger, with two e's.Liesbeth en Karlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16859920679736825433noreply@blogger.com
